Coat, Parachute Jumper, M-1942, Reinforced, 101st Airborne Division
Extremely rare genuine WWII US Army M1942 parachute jumper jacket, made in windproof and water-resistant cotton cloth, introduced in December 1941 and intended for being worn with matching trousers. This type is fitted with slanted breast pockets for easier access to contents.
The left shoulder features the 101st Airborne Division shoulder sleeve insignia, while elbows and lower pockets have been reinforced with thick, machine-stitched fabric pieces.
Shoulder width: 19.3in.
This coat is in good, worn condition, and retains its waist belt and all original snap fasteners. The main Talon zipper is in working order, and so are the two smaller zip closures of the pocket designed for the clasp knife -- though only one of the Serval pull tabs is still present.
A few small tears related to normal use are worthy of note, yet the present jacket shows no moth damage.
