Title, South African Air Force
€20.00
Tax included
Genuine WWII South African Air Force brass shoulder title, to be worn by enlisted men and NCOs on shoulder straps. Initials SAAF and SALM correspond to the bilingual denomination -- South African Air Force in English and Suid-Afrikaanse Lugmag in Afrikaans, the two main official languages of the Dominion.
Most of the SAAF Squadrons saw action in East Africa (1940-1941), North Africa (1941-1943) and during the Sicilian and Italian campaigns (1941-1943). Some South Africans also flew within the RAF in Europe, such as 'Sailor' Malan, the famous ace credited with 27 aircraft destroyed.
One lug is missing.
