The 2nd Battalion, was part of the 25th Infantry Brigade, 50th (Northumbrian) Infantry Division during the battle of France in May 1940 and participated to the evacuation of Dunkirk.
As part of the 56th Infantry Brigade, the battalion landed on Gold Beach on June 6, 1944 as the right flank of the 50th (Northumbrian) Infantry Division.

The Code provides additional penalties, including the confiscation of the items used or intended for committing the offence.
