Dinghy, Type K, Royal Air Force, RAF
Rare genuine WWII British Type K one-man pneumatic life raft, intended for Royal Air Force aircrews and particularly for fighter pilots flying over the Channel, introduced circa 1942. This type was also used by the RCAF and the USAAF.
The Type A Mk II seat pack, designed for being attached onto the parachute harness, actually superseded the regular seat cushion; Air Minsitry reference number 27C/1899 is clearly visible at the rear. Instructions can be found in English, French, Czech, and Polish, for volunteers from various German-occupied countries flying with the RAF.
Great homogeneous set, in quite good overall condition, made up of the dinghy itself, its sail, mast and bracket, along with a single paddle.
