The towns of Avranches and Saint-Hilaire-du-Harcouët, both located in the Southern part of the Cotentin Peninsula in Normandy, France, were respectively liberated by elements of the 4th Armored Division on July 31, 1944, and of the 90th Infantry Division on August 2, 1944.
Published by the General Staff-Geographical Section of the War Office, and edited by 654th Engineer Topograhical Battalion and 62nd Engineer Topographical Company.
