Nice genuine WWII Canadian battledress blouse, 1939 Pattern.
Manufactured by Workman Uniform Co. Ltd. in Montreal, Quebec and dated 1943. Size 10.
The present jacket, of the type intended for other ranks, features the following cloth insignia: 'Canada' nationality shoulder titles, Royal Canadian Corps of Signals insignia, of the type specific to the 4th Armoured Division (printed version), service chevrons on the lower right sleeve (three years of service) and ribbon bar on the breast (Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Overseas Clasp).
The left shoulder tab has been adorned with the British 21st Army Group formation badge, indicating that the former owner served in the European Theater of Operations.
Complete and in very good overall condition.
A single identity disc (Signalman R. Chudleigh, service number M100400, United Church, Canadian) comes along with this uniform; letter M indicates that the soldier to whom this dog tag was issued joined the Army in Alberta.
Rufus Chudleigh was born on November 25, 1916 in Millicent, Alberta and volunteered in the Canadian Army on April 9, 1942. He deployed to England and met some Stella Lucas, whom he married on May 9, 1945. He passed away on December 18, 1994.
