Recruited in British Columbia, this regiment fought during the Great War.

On June 6, 1944, the 'Can Scots' landed in the second wave on Juno Beach as part of the 7th Canadian Infantry Brigade, 3rd Canadian Infantry Division and kept fighting throughout the whole Battle of Normandy, participating in violent actions against the 12. SS-Panzerdivision 'Hitlerjugend' at Putot-en-Bessin and Rots.
