Grouping, Cpl. Nelson Cole, 115th Inf. Regt., 29th Infantry Division
Scarce genuine WWII US Army grouping, which belonged to Corporal Nelson A. Cole, Service Company, 115th Infantry Regiment, 29th Infantry Division, made up of the following items:
- A nice handcrafted wooden chest, featuring a single handle on the left side and a latch intended for attaching a padlock -- not included here. The outer surfaces have been covered with a layer of OD paint and the following markings have been stenciled on both the lid and the front side: Nelson A. Cole, 8210 Queen Anne, Silver Spring, MD. Dimensions: 14.1in x 11.6in x 12.6in.
- Two named khaki cotton cloth shirts retaining a 29th Infantry Division shoulder sleeve insignia -- one also features a Western Pacific Forces patch and some First Sergeant rank stripes.
- A garrison cap with the light blue piping of the Infantry;
- A set of seven dog tags issued to Nelson A. Cole, ASN 33448655, vaccinated against tetanus in 1942, 1945 and 1946, blood type A, Protestant, 8210 Queen Anne, Silver Spring, Maryland.
- Two military manuals: The Army Clerk (January 1943) and Military Sanitation (July 1945).
- An important body of personal documents -- pay book, vaccination record, driver's license and various memberships cards, along with some correspondence and a couple of photographs.
