Grouping, T/5 Morris Cutler, Medic, 393rd Inf. Regt., 99th Infantry Division, WIA, ETO
Grouping of various documents, which once belonged to Technician 5th Grade Morris Cutler and comprises the following elements:
- birth certificate issued by the City Clerk's Office of Springfield, Massachusetts on June 16, 1941;
- certificate issued by the American Red Cross on June 21, 1943, indicating that he completed the standard course of instruction in first aid to the injured at Camp Barkeley, Texas;
- two German banknotes of the interwar period, with a face value of one rentenmark and two rentenmarks;
- a worn-out copy of the booklet dedicated to the 99th Infantry Division and published at the end of the war;
- a Jewish prayer book;
- two membership cards issued bysome associations of Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge.
Morris Cutler was born on January 16, 1925 in Springfield, Massachusetts and joined the US Army on March 31, 1943 (ASN 32879293). He went on to serve with the Medical Department, deployed to Europe with 393rd Infantry Regiment, 99th Infantry Division and was wounded by shrapnel following the explosion of a mine in February 1945 near Elsenborn, Belgium. Discharged as a Technician 5th Grade in September of that year, he passed away on December 23, 2001.
