Genuine WWII US Army instruction sheet for packboard, second pattern. The latter was made of shaped plywood and featured a wide canvas panel laced on the sides, following the curves of the wearer's back.
This type was introduced as a simpler alternative to the earlier Yukon Packboard. Widely used to carry heavy and bulky loads such as ammunition crates, rations, jerrycans, crew-served weapons, medical equipment, and other various supplies.
The present document is in quite good overall condition despite a tear. Dated 1944.
