Interesting genuine WWII US Army Duffle Bag, of the green canvas type featuring a shoulder strap (missing here), larger and sturdier than the Barrack Bag and which could be secured with a padlock. Dated 1943 (manufacturer's name is illegible).

In good used condition, the present bag features various markings, including name Sileymane Mamabe, number 80569, an invasion code made up of three horizontal bars (green-blue-green) and located next to a capital J and under number 45146, as well as a large red ace of clubs. Two strips of medical tape have been used to patch a tear in the lower part of the bag.

It is likely that the above-mentioned tactical markings correspond to some unit of the 3rd Armored Division.
