Suspenders, Belt, M-1936, Taped, 1st Lt. John Haley, Corps of Engineers, 1942
Genuine WWII US Army khaki webbing suspenders, with adjustable straps and hooks. These were intended for carrying the pistol belt or cartridge belt, as well as the M-1936 canvas field bag. Manufactured by S. Froehlich Co. and dated 1942.
Quite good, worn condition. The lower straps are kept in place with adhesive tape, while the following markings appear on the inner side of one of the two suspenders: John J. Haley 1st. Lt. CE.
John James Haley was born on September 14, 1916 in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin and went on to serve in the Corps of Engineers during the Second Wolrd War (officer's ASN O-79835). He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after the Vietnam War. He passed away on July 2, 1988.
