Genuine WWII US Army M1943 Field Pack, intended for replacing the M1928 haversack,
A variation of the 1942 Jungle Pack, this model was the final and late version, slightly roomier, and made in green material. Issued in some quantity in Europe in 1944, it was finally superseded by the two-part combat pack in late 1944.
The present backpack is complete and in good overall condition despite some oxidation of all metal parts. Snap hooks and zipper are in working order.
