Genuine WWII US Army M1936 field bag, made in rubberized canvas, used for carrying personal belongings.

Manufactured by The Langdon Tent & Awning Co. and dated 1942.

Quite good overall condition.

The following markings have been stenciled at the rear:  Maj. Paul L. Babbitt O 359826 0246-L.

Paul Lester Babbitt was born on February 24, 1908 in Walsenburg, Colorado and joined the US Army on April 24, 1941. He went on to serve with 1104th Engineer Combat Group and deployed to Europe, participating in every campaign his unit was involved in, from France to Germany, through Belgium and the Netherlands. He retired on April 30, 1961 as a Colonel, and passed away on July 31, 1990.
