Bag, General Purpose, BOYT -43-, Impregnated and Camouflaged, Normandy
Genuine WWII US Army GP (General Purpose) bag, manufactured by Boyt and dated 1943.
This heavy canvas bag, intended for carrying various types of ammunition and grenades, could be carried as a musette bag or as a backpack.
The present bag was probably impregnated with anti-gas material prior to being camouflaged with green paint. Snap hooks are in working order.
Found in Normandy.
