Issued in lieu of the haversack to officers and other personnel such as airborne troops and armored crews.
Good, used condition; the Armored Force insignia has been drawn on the flap, above name Robert W. Neuenkirch and ASN 17169396.
Robert William Neuenkirch was born on January 19, 1922 in Strawberry Point, Iowa and joined the US Army on December 3, 1942. Afer graduating from the Armored Force School at Fort Knox, Kentucky, he went on to serve with Service Compayny, 13th Infantry Regiment, 8th Infantry Division.
He deployed to Europe from July 15, 1944 to August 31, 1945, was discharged on November 10 of that year as a Technician 5th Grade, and passed away on March 7, 2001.
