Genuine WWII US Army canteen, manufactured by S.M. Co. and dated 1942, complete with standard regulation cup hallmarked Foley Mfg. Co.and dated 1942, too.
This lot comes in its original canvas cover, manufactured by G. & R. Co. in 1942.
Nice homogeneous set, in quite good overall condition.
Aronal Franklin Faga was born on April 26, 1910 in Adair, Iowa and joined the US Navy on September 12, 1942 (service number 640-62-20). He went on to serve with 31st Naval Construction Battalion and deployed to the PTO twice -- from December 1st, 1942 to October 31, 1943, and from December 28, 1944 to October 9, 1945. Discharged on October 27 of that year as a Carpenter's Mate 2nd Class, he passed away on February 26, 1966.
