Handbag and Hat, US Navy, WAVES, Sp(S)2c Wilma Tyvoll
Rare genuine WWII US Navy female personnel black leather handbag. Carrying strap is missing but snap fastener is in working order. Name W.L. Tyvoll is clearly visible under the flap. A dark blue hat intended for being worn by WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service) with the winter service uniform comes along with the present utility bag. Size 21 1/2. Initials W.L.T. are clearly visible inside.
Great homogeneous set, in very good overall condition.
Wilma Leone Tyvoll was born on July 4, 1918 in Cumberland, Wisconsin and joined the US Navy on June 15, 1944. She was discharged on January 16, 1946 and passed away on July 21, 1983. She was buried under her spouse name -- VanderVennet.
