Pair of genuine WWII US Army rubber overshoes, closing by four spring-loaded hooks with flat buckles. Manufactured by Goodyear Rubber Co. Size 7.

The production of this early version came to an end at the beginning of the war due to the shortage of source materials. This all-rubber type was subsequently superseded by the neoprene and rubber type, which was issued to the First Special Service Force in Italy and in the French Alps, prior to being used on a larger scale in the Ardennes during the Battle of the Bulge in December 1944 -- particularly by troops of the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions.
