Pair of genuine WWII US Army neoprene and rubber overshoes, closing by four spring-loaded hooks with flat buckles.
Manufactured by U.S. Rubber Co. Soles bear mention Made in U.S.A. The ink markings visible in the left boot show a contract number dated December 1st, 1942, whereas the one present in the right boot is dated April 5, 1943.
This type was issued to the First Special Service Force in Italy and in the French Alps, prior to being used on a larger scale in the Ardennes during the Battle of the Bulge in December 1944 -- particularly by troops of the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions.
Quite good, worn condition; seem to correspond to size 9.5.
