Suspenders & Ammunition Pouches, M1935/1937, French Army, Normandy

Scarce genuine WWII French Army russet leather suspenders and ammunition pouches, of the M1935 type modified in 1937 when, amongst various smaller changes, the inner straps were removed. Each pouch is made up of two separate compartments (one large, one smaller) with an overall capacity of 45 rounds for the 7.5mm caliber rifle -- that is, a total of 90 cartridges per man.
Homogeneous set in quite good, used condition, iconic of the Battle of France (1940).
The present artifact comes from a significant collection built up by a Norman collector in the last thirty years.
