Genuine WWII German Brotbeutel 31 canvas musette bag, generally known as 'bread bag'.
This piece of gear was standard issue for the German infantryman: although first intended for carrying the daily food ration, it was often used a catch-all for personal belongings.
The present bag is in quite good, used condition and retains all original metal buttons and D-rings, as well as its various leather straps.
Found in Normandy.
