

Rare genuine WWII German photograph showing elements of the ᛋᛋ-Freiwilligen-Legion „Flandern“ on the Eastern Front in July 1942.
The present picture, taken by war correspondent Melters, shows an armored reconnaissance car of the Sd.Kfz. 232 type or similar, driving through a town -- this photograph was taken from the following vehicle, as indicated by the hood visible in the foreground.
The reverse of the photo bears the stamp of Ersatzkommando Flandern u. Wallonien d. Waffen-ᛋᛋ (Werbestelle Gent), along with the following caption, typewritten in German: ᛋᛋ-Panzerspähwagen rollen durch ein besetztesrussiches Dorf. ('Some ᛋᛋ armored reconnaissance vehicles drive through an occupied Russian town.')
