Rare genuine WWII Heer Georgian volunteer sleeve insignia, printed on cloth.

The present shield, which bears the national colors of Georgia, a small State of the Caucasus region, features mention Georgien in capital letters.

The creation of a specific unit for Georgian volunteers was allowed by Hitler in December 1941. Soon after, this insignia was produced and issued to the troops, who would wear it on the upper right sleeve of the field uniform.

Some of theses Georgian volunteers were part of the various Osttrupen that the 101st Airborne Division met in Normandy.

Mint, unissued condition.
