Hat, HBT, 1942

Genuine WWII US herringbone twill (HBT) hat, introduced in January 1941 and worn with the two-piece light green HBT fatigues. According to regulations , it was worn with the brim turned down. The hat was issued to all personnel except Armored troops and motor mechanics, who had a specific cap. It became 'limited standard' in July 1943. Label is still here, size 6 5/8 and dated February 16, 1942.
