Patch, 39th Infantry Division

Genuine post war 39th Infantry Division patch. The Delta Division was never activated during WWII. The shoulder patch was designed after WWI in which they saw service. The triangle on the patch (The Greek letter "D" for Delta) and the monogram D both suggest the name of 'Delta Division'. This was in honor of the Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi National guard who made up the Division during WWI. The colors red, white and blue are our national colors and the color gray is traditionally associated with Southern States.
