Great genuine WWII US Army 4th Infantry Divsion shoulder sleeve insignia, of the rare early-production twill type.
Excellent overall condition.
The 4th Infantry Division landed as part of the first wave on Utah Beach on D-Day. The 'Ivy Division' subsequently participated in the liberation of Cherbourg in late June, before joining the 'battle of the hedgerows' in the Bocage in early July, where it sustained heavy casualties.
