Grouping, Pfc. Harry Kent, Co. G, 291st Inf. Regt., 75th Infantry Division, KIA, Battle of the Bulge
Rare genuine WWII US Army grouping, which belonged to some Private First Class Harry C. Kent, Company G, 291st Infantry Regiment, 75th Infantry Division, and includes the following artefacts:
- Purple Heart coming in its original case along with ribbon bar and lapel badge, as well as two spare ribbons; name Harry C. Kent has been engraved on the reverse;
- large corpus of documents, mostly made up of various official letters sent to his widow by different US military and civilian authorities from 1945 et 1947;
- historical booklet (large format), The 75th Infantry Division in Combat;
- historical booklet (small format), The 75th;
- 75th Infantry Division shoulder sleeve insignia.
Great homogeneous set, in very good overall condition.
Harry Clifford Kent was born on April 26, 1944 in Washington, Indiana and joined the US Army on April 14, 1943 (ASN 35141484). Initially enlisted in the Air Forces, he was soon transferred to the Infantry and went on to serve with Company G, 291st Infantry Regiment, 75 Infantry Division. Deploying to Europe in October 1944, he was killed in action on January 15, 1945 near Bastogne, Belgium during the Battle of the Bulge. His body was buried in Henri-Chapelle Military Cemetery, prior to being repatriated in 1947.
