Genuine WWII American shoulder patch of the 5th Air Force.

Activated on September 20, 1941, this unit was initially stationed in the Philippines before being relocated to Australia in 1942. It served in the Pacific with the primary objective of bombing Japanese airfields and ships.

Comes from a collection assembled by WAC Sgt. Iraline Eichhorst from Minnesota. Period patch groupings were cut apart and individually separated.

Iraline was stationed in New York, while her husband, George, was a tank commander in the 750th Tank Battalion during the Battle of the Bulge. Each patch comes with annotations, some of which include names.
