Grouping, S/Sgt. Jean Forbes, 51st Arm. Inf. Bn., 4th Armored Division, WIA, ETO, 1944
Rare genuine WWII US Army grouping, which belonged to some Staff Sergeant Jean M. Forbes, 51st Armored Infantry Battalion, 4th Armored Division, and includes the following artefacts:
- Silver Star, coming in its case along with ribbon bar and lapel badge; name Jean M. Forbes has been engraved on the reverse of the medal;
- Bronze Star, coming in its case along with ribbon bar and lapel badge; name Jean M. Forbes has been engraved on the reverse of the medal;
- Purple Heart, coming in its case along with ribbon bar and lapel badge;
- Good Conduct Medal, coming in its box along with ribbon bar and lapel badge;
Great homogeneous set, in very good overall condition.
Jean Marvin Forbes was born on March 31, 1922 in St. Louis, Missouri and joined the US Army on December 14, 1940 (ASN 15047420). He went on to serve with 51st Armored Infantry Battalion, 4th Armored Division and deployed to Europe, where he was wounded in action twice -- December 1944 and February 1945. He was discharged on June 18, 1945 as a Staff Sergeant, and passed away on October 3, 2004.
