Genuine WWII US Purple Heart Medal, coming in its original case along with ribbon bar and lapel badge.
Name Rocco Puglisi and date Sept. 21, 1944 have been engraved on the reverse of the medal.
Great homogeneous set, in very good overall condition.
Rocco Joseph Puglisi was born on January 22, 1925 in Framingham, Massachusetts and joined the US Army on February 8, 1943 (ASN 31295933). He deployed to Europe and went on to serve with Company A, 116th Infantry Regiment, 29th Infantry Division. He was wounded in action twice -- in September 1944 in France, and on December 1st of that year in Germany. He was discharged on October 17, 1945 as a Staff Sergeant, and passed away on September 4, 1991.
