

Rare genuine WWII US Army grouping, which belonged to Sergeant Philip W. Sluzar, Headquarters, 401st Glider Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, and includes the following artefacts:
- pair of early production dog tags issued to Philip W. Sluzar, ASN 32476154, vaccinated against tetanus in 1942 and 1943, blood type B, Catholic, with name and address of next-of-kin -- here, his mother; a P-38 can opener is still attached to the bead chains which come along with the dog tags;
- Bronze Star coming in its case along with ribbon bar and lapel badge;
- four medal ribbon bar: Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with one Arrowhead and four Stars, American Campaign Medal, and WWII Victory Medal;
- Distinguished Unit Citation;
- sterling silver glider badge;
- Soldier's Individual Pay Record and Immunization Card issued to the above-mentioned GI;
- microfilm version of his full discharge;
- two cloth cap badges -- generic airborne troops insignia and gliderborne infantry insignia;
- four Overseas Service Bars;
- Sergeant rank stripes (two different types).
A commemorative coin, a glider badge-shaped pendant, and a 327th Infantry Regiment cloth insignia complete this nice homogeneous set, in good overall condition.
Philip William Sluzar was born on June 5, 1918 in West Monroe, New York, and joined the US Army on September 14, 1942. He went on to serve with Company M, 327th Infantry Regiment (Hq., 401st Glider Infantry Regiment), 101st Airborne Division and deployed to Europe, where he participated in every major campaign from Normandy to the Ardennes and Germany. He was discharged on December 5, 1945 as a Sergeant, and passed away on February 26, 2004.
