Chest, Wooden, Cpl. John Walton, 121st Transportation Truck Company, Korean War
Scarce handcrafted wooden chest, featuring two hinges and whose outer surfaces have been covered with a layer of Olive Drab Paint. Dimensions: 30.3in x 17.5in x 13.1in.
The various personal details painted on the crate and written on the labels indicate that it once belonged to some Corporal John Walton, ASN 23917509, whose spouse Ruth lived at 43 Wideawake Street, Pine Grove, Pennsylvania while he was serving in the US Army.
John Walton was born on January 24, 1912 in Hazleton, Pennsylvania and joined the US Army on August 19, 1950. He went on to serve with 121st Transportation Truck Company in Korea for more than a year and and was discharged as a Corporal on March 31, 1952. He passed away on August 31, 1990.
