

Interesting genuine WWII US Army M1 helmet, with front seam and fixed loops, manufactured by McCord and bearing shell number 235D. Original first type canvas chinstrap with brass buckle and hook. The outer surface of the shell, which shows various dents here and there, features the remnants of a three-tone camouflage pattern.
This helmet comes along with its liner of the scarce, early production, 'low pressure' model, manufactured by St. Clair Rubber Co. -- rayon suspension, cotton neckband, leather sweatband, plain rectangular washers (oxidized) and leather chinstrap; the latter's left-hand side ring is broken. Yellow initials SC have been inked at the bottom of the present hard hat. Various holes are to be mentioned, the largest two being located on the front.
Nice homogeneous set, in worn condition.

The Code provides additional penalties, including the confiscation of the items used or intended for committing the offence.
