Nice genuine WWII US Army M1 helmet, front seam and fixed loops, manufactured by McCord, shell number 59B. Original canvas chinstrap with early brass buckle and hook.
Two names are visible on the inner surface of the shell: Sgt. Bayones W. (carved) and Harry R. Cramer (written with a pencil).
Comes with its rare original cloth-covered fiber liner, manufactured by Hawley, retaining its khaki cotton suspension and neckband, russet leather sweatband, and plain A washers.
Great homogeneous set.
Wilbur Francis Bayones was born on January 15, 1921 in Helena, Montana and passed away on December 8, 1998.
