Genuine WWII US Army M1 helmet, front seam and fixed loops, manufactured by McCord, shell number 592A. Original canvas chinstrap with early brass buckle and hook.
Comes with its original liner, manufactured by Firestone, retaining its khaki cotton suspension and neckband, russet leather sweatband (damaged), plain A washers, and leather chinstrap. Name Smith and a 2nd Lieutenant rank insignia have been painted on the outer surface, while a name tag bearing name Charles L. Smith, Jr. is still present inside.
Nice homogeneous set in quite good, worn condition.
