Helmet, M1, Fixed Loops, INLAND Liner, Green A Washers, 1st Lieutenant
Genuine WWII US Army M1 helmet, front seam and fixed bales, manufactured by McCord, shell number 222C. Original early canvas chinstrap with brass hook -- buckle is broken.
The outer surface of the shell, which seems to show remnants of some camouflage paint, features a hand-painted 1st Lieutenant rank insignia.
Comes with its original liner, manufactured by Inland, retaining its khaki cotton web suspension and neckband, russet leather sweatband, and OD-painted A washers; some 1st Lieutenant rank insignia has been drawn on the front.
Homogeneous set, in quite good overall condition.
