Helmet, M1, Swivel Loops, Corporal, Battle-Damaged, La Haye-du-Puits, Normandy
Genuine WWII US Army M1 helmet, front seam and fixed bales, manufactured by McCord, shell number illegible. Early chinstrap with brass buckle and hook.
The outer surface, adorned with white Corporal rank stripes, retains some of its original paint.
The point of entry of a projectile, which has gone through the shell, is still visible on the right front side, while the exit hole is located at the left rear.
Quite good, worn condition; found at La Haye-du-Puits, Cotentin Peninsula, Normandy, France.
