Helmet, M1, Fixed Loops, 4th Infantry Division, NCO, Military Police, FIRESTONE Liner
Genuine WWII US Army M1 helmet, front seam and fixed bales, manufactured by McCord, shell number 107B. Original early canvas chinstrap with brass buckle and hook.
The front of the outer surface shows the remnants of the 4th Infantry Division insignia, painted above what could be left of initials MP; the white horizontal bar painted at the rear of the shell indicates that its owner was a non-commissioned officer. Initials LF have been painted in white on the inner surface.
Comes with an original liner, manufactured by Firestone, retaining its khaki cotton web suspension, russet leather sweatband, blackened-brass A washers, and United Carr leather chinstrap; two distinct laundry numbers are visible inside.
A very nice set, in good overall condition.
