Superb genuine WWII US Navy M1 helmet, front seam and fixed loops, manufactured by McCord, with no visible shell number.
Original early production canvas chinstrap with brass buckle and hook, on which name J.R. Ducat and mention Lt. U.S.N.R. have been written. The outer surface has been covered with a layer of blue-gray paint, while mention EXEC, which indicates the role of Executive Officer of its wearer, has been stenciled in white capital letters on the front.
Comes along with its rare liner of the first pattern, cloth-covered cardboard type manufactured by Hawley, which retains its rayon suspension and leather chinstrap. Mention Lt. J.R. Ducat U.S.N.R. has been written on both the inner surface of the liner itself and on the russet leather sweatband.
Great homogeneous set, in good overall condition.
