Helmet, M1, fixed bales, US Navy, Naval Amphibious Unit, D-Day, Utah Beach & Omaha Beach

Genuine WWII US Navy M1 helmet, front seam and fixed loops, manufactured by McCord, shell number 622B. Original 2nd pattern canvas chinstrap with steel buckle and hook.

The outer surface of the shell adorned with a single grey strip (1.7-inch-high) around the full circumference, indicating that the present helmet saw service with some naval amphibious unit.

Excellent overall condition, belonged to E. G. HYDE.
