Booklet, Tag, Medical, Emergency, Sgt. Roy Ward, 13th Inf. Regt., 8th Infantry Division, ETO
Rare genuine WWII US Army Medical Department emergency medical tag booklet, to be carried by every Medic. Revised edition of November 5, 1942.
Each tag was to be filled with the sick or wounded soldier's basic information, detached, and then tied to his clothes thanks to the cord intended for this purpose, while the carbon copy remained attached.
The present booklet is in very good overall condition and retains some of its blank, untouched tags. The first form indicates that some Sergeant Roy C. Ward, ASN 39407621, was treated for a 'sprain acute right lateral ligament' sustained while practicing sports.
Roy Clinton Ward was born on September 28, 1923 in Kansas, Oklahoma and joined the US Army on January 16, 1943. He was discharged on October 15, 1945 as a Sergeant and passed away on May 8, 1985.
