Packet, First-Aid, Carlisle Model, Plastic Box (Tenite), with Sulfa

Rare genuine WWII US First-Aid Packet in tin box, U.S. Gov't., Carlisle Model.

Manufactured by Acme Cotton Prod. Co., Inc. in New York City.

Tenite was a hard cellulose plastic developed by the Tennessee Eastman Corporation, adopted for Carlisle dressing case use in early 1943 as a substitute for the steel and brass case. However, plastic was subject to warping, cracks and breakage under field conditions, and production of this type ended soon after an improved case of foil and hard paper was introduced later that year.

Complete, untouched condition -- box is still sealed.
