Rare genuine WWII US Baumanometer manual tensiometer, manufactured by W.A. Baum Co., Inc. in New York.
Medical instrument intended for measuring blood pressure.
Complete and in perfect condition; comes in its original case, which bears a small plaque -- inscriptions engrave on the latter indicate that the present set was presented to some 'Doc' Cutter by the officers of the Wardroom Mess of USS Trippe (DD-403) on January 15, 1943.
Commissioned on November 1st, 1939, this destroyer participated in the escort of many transatlantic convoys bound for the Mediterranean Theater of Operations -- North Africa, Sicily and mainland Italy -- prior to transferring to the Pacific in 1945.
