Parka, Reversible, Ski, Mountain Troops, Medium, 1942, 517th PRCT & 551st PIB
Nice genuine WWII US Army ski reversible parka (khaki and white), intended for mountain troops and made up of a double layer of water-repellent poplin. This early production type has three buttons and a drawstring at the collar, and two large side pockets with buttoned flaps. The following version featured a hood lined with wolf fur.
This type was issued to the First Special Service Force (FSSF) in 1943-1944 and also saw service with various paratroop units in Southern France and in the Ardennes in the winter of 1944.
Good, worn condition; complete with all original buttons. Label is dated November 11, 1942. Size: Medium.
