Cap Badge, Polish Air Force in the West, RAF
Great and rare genuine WWII Polish Air Force in the West cap badge, intended for Other Ranks.
Following the invasion of Poland in September 1939, aircrews loyal to the government in exile were transferred to France first, and then to Britain in the summer of 1940.
Some 145 Polish pilots subsequently participated in the Battle of Britain within the Royal Air Force, thus representing the largest foreign contribution. Altogether, over 17,000 Polish citizens served alongside the Allied air forces from 1940 to 1945.
Good overall condition.
