Extremely rare genuine WWII US Army shock-absorbing helmet, of the first type introduced in 1938 and produced by Rawlings, intended for tank and armored vehicle crews.
Generally referred to as the 'Infantry Style Tank Helmet', as opposed to the 'Cavalry Tank Helmet' developed upon request of the 1st Cavalry Division, this early production version is also known as the 'Donut' type.
Size 7 ¼.
Good, worn condition; comes along with its R-30-U receivers (complete). The chinstrap shows signs of repair and both ear muffs are missing.
