Great genuine WWII US Army winter combat trousers, of the second type made in wool-lined twill, with zippered fly opening and adjustable straps. Tightening of ankles is allowed by snap fasteners.
Often worn by tank crews and motorcyclists, the so-called 'tanker' jacket and bib soon became popular amongst officers of various branches of service -- not to mention paratroopers of the 504th PIR, fighter pilots, and sailors of the Naval Beach Battalions on D-Day.
Warmer than the A-2 jacket and more comfortable, the jacket was made of the same material as the trousers, featuring the wool blanket type lining. Many infantrymen also wore it during the Battle of the Bulge.
Complete and in very good overall condition; all zippers are in working order.
