Nice genuine WWII US Army khaki cotton winter combat helmet, of the first type without wool lining.
Though initially intended for armored crews, this hood was also worn by despatch riders and some infantrymen in cold weather conditions.
Complete and in very good overall condition despite some oxidation of the snap fasteners; the tag still attached to the left side bears handwritten mention 2nd Lt. Co. C. R. Marchand.
