Mittens, Shell, Trigger Finger, Type I

Genuine pair of WWII US mittens, made of windproof poplin with leather palm, intended for mountain and cold climate operations. Worn over the wool mittens. The index finger is left free to activate the weapon's trigger. Adjustable thanks to two straps.

Used during the Battle of the Bulge, including by elements of the 82nd Airborne Division.

Partial service number S-8467 has been handwritten on the left-hand mitten. Very good, used condition.
